Your dream day

I will be on board with you from the start to the end of your wedding service. Your day will be planned and edited until it is perfect for both of you and your people present. It should be the best part of your day, whatever style you choose.

How I work with you

It's a must to get to the right fit for you both and know exactly what your day will look and sound like. That's why I always offer a no-obligation "Meet and Greet." If I'm your right fit, from there I will have an initial planning meeting/ getting to know both of you so I can head home and start writing. I will send you this draft and you can revise it until we have every word perfect. I will guide you to ensure everything you want to be included is, as well as highlighting other options you may not have thought about. Your service will be personal, reflective of you as people, and inclusive of your people present on the day. On top of a rehearsal and of course officiating on the day, YAY, I will keep you positive, progressive, and on form for a most perfect, seamless, and beautiful wedding service.

Jessie

“I didn’t even get to say goodbye or thank you on Saturday but a massive thank you from the both of us. It was the most incredible day.”

Zac

“Thank you so much Tania for your excellent job you did on Saturday. You are very good at what you do. Big thanks.”

Adele & Cody

“ I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for being the most amazing Celebrant we could have asked for. Cody said you chilled him out when he was stressing. I loved the way you spoke and the whole thing was absolutely perfect.”

Susie

“I meant to contact you since the wedding but the world changed so dramatically shortly thereafter. I just wanted to say how truly wonderful you were- great management of my brother and a really masterful (or a female version of that) speech- you captured them both beautifully.”

Wedding planning can be overwhelming, here’s a list of FAQs to help!

Who is responsible for getting the marriage licence?

That’s you.

The licence is valid for 3 months, and you must have it more than 3 working days before your wedding.

You can find the form online. Apply here

How much does it cost?

The licence is $150.

Is the licence the same as a marriage certificate?

No. The license is the document that needs to be signed and lodged to make your marriage legal. The marriage certificate is an official record of your marriage. It’s $33 + shipping and can be ordered here.

The witnesses! Can a child be a witness?

They absolutely can! Anyone can be a witness as long as they understand what they are signing.

Do we have to exchange rings?

Not at all. You can choose to exchange anything of significance or nothing at all.

Do I actually need a celebrant?

Legally yes. Your celebrant has been appointed by the Registrar-General to perform legal weddings.

So Uncle Bob can’t marry us?

Technically no. However, if you wish to have Uncle Bob play a part, we can discuss how he can be involved in the service and I can perform the legal parts.

Ok so I’ve got the licence and I’ve got a Celebrant, now what?

You will receive two copies issued by the Department of Internal Affairs. Check all the information is correct then forward these to me and I will look after these and bring them to the service to be signed.

After the service I will return one copy to the department of Births, Deaths and Marriages and give the other copy to you.

What happens at the service to make it a legal marriage?

There’s 3 main ‘must does’ to make it a legal marriage.

Your full names as they appear on the certificate must be said once during the service. Once your full names have been used then just your first name or even a nickname can be used through the ceremony.

Each partner must say “I Person A, take you Person B to be my legal wife/husband/partner or words to that effect and intention.

The wedding licence is signed by the couple, the celebrant and 2 witnesses.
