I will sit with you and walk you through your life and write it for you to keep and gift. This is something unique and will honour the value and meaning to your life. How I work with you After working as a Celebrant for 5 years I saw a gap, a need, so decided to fill it for you and your family. I sometimes meet with families and they don’t know much about their person's story. They wish they did. Finding this out at a time of loss is even more heart-breaking so I decided to craft a solution, writing “Living Stories.” A beautiful way to record your memories and character straight from you. I will interview you or your family person, starting at the start but the neat bit is finding out what makes you you, and your family them because of you. I will write your story for you to keep. It will share the detail of family treasures, morals, values, sayings, history, relationships, and most importantly accuracy as it’s from you. Value your story, you do have one which I will gather for you, write it for you and your future generations. A time for you to share your living legacy and gratitude. How I work with you Some people do have me visit them when they know the end of life is near which is a deep privilege, but mostly I am invited into a family when a loved one dies. I promise I will wholeheartedly turn up to every family I serve with respect, an open heart, mind, and skill to involve and value each person present and of course at the core, your loved one. From the minute we meet, through to each of the minutes I officiate at the service, I will guide each person involved through the service you wish for, designing and delivering with sensitivity, warmth, professionalism, and any other quality you want to reflect. After holding in my heart since I was a wee tot, to work with people at times of celebrating, I am now living and sharing my dream. As a school leaver, I was invited to work alongside a Funeral Director and knew serving families was what I wanted to give to. I was diplomatically and rightly told to go and get some life under my skin. I taught for 15 years, owned a Women’s Only gym in Dunedin for 17 years, and brought up 3 pretty neat children through those years. But it is now, I am honouring my life goal. I hold my role in each of my services with the privilege and honour it deserves and always will. Every time I am trusted to serve you and your loved ones, I will bring my ear to hear your story, a smile, my youthful energy, deep empathy and thought, to craft the words gifted to me into a story sharing love, honour and genuine respect to all involved.
